High Altitude

Ecuador is regarded as one of the most enticing climbing destinations in the world. It is famous for its Big Ten peaks: volcanoes with summits over 5,000 m, nine with glaciers. The routes range from easy snow travel to challenging, technical routes. The quick accessibility of these peaks makes them ideal for climbing, and all are a relatively short distance from our offices in Quito and Riobamba.

            

Ecuador’s majestic high peaks offer you the option of standing in the only place where both the latitude and temperature is 0˚ (Cayambe 5,790 m), a peak that is closer to the sun and stars than any other spot on Earth (Chimborazo 6,310 m), and the highest active volcano (Cotopaxi 5,897 m). Whichever peak you select, our fantastic guiding staff will help you achieve your goals. We have one guide for every two climbers, to give each climber a greater opportunity to reach the summit.
